HOURLY RATE: $31.46
POSITION SUMMARY: Fabricate buildings, beams, girders, boats, etc., out of Aluminum materials according to contract specifications and blueprints with minimal supervision.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: \n - Read and interpret all types of drawings and sketches; lay out and assemble with speed and accuracy without the aid of supervision.
\n - Identify material types, cut to length, lay-out and fit-up welded or bolted detail, show weld sizes, piece marks, direction marks, etc.
\n - Develop, bend, roll, build up, and assemble various types of plated assemblies and structures.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None
INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS: \n - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
\n - Ability to follow written and oral instructions regarding daily functions, safety rules and regulations, and possible hazardous conditions.
\n - Ability to communicate with and instruct team members on projects.
\n

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: \n - Experience and ability to perform the above referenced essential functions and responsibilities.
\n - Sufficient knowledge in burning, welding, and operation of production machines and cranes.
\n - Knowledge of pipe welding in aluminum, stainless, and copper nickel is a plus
\n - Knowledgeable in the operation of all fabrication equipment.
\n

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2 years' welding/fabrication experience or apprentice program.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: \n - Capable of passing a 3G, 4G Aluminum weld test on 3/8 plate to AWS D1.2 weld standards.
\n - Must be in good standing with or willing to join an affiliated labor union.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: \n - Ability to lift, carry 60Lbs., or maneuver objects, difficult objects will be lifted with the assistance of mechanical means or additional workers.
\n - Must be able to lift 4 ft., 60 lb. spool of wire and load welding machine.
\n - Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, kneel, twist, pull, push, grip, and climb.
\n - Capable of working from ladders and scaffolding.
\n

WORK ENVIRONMENT: May be exposed to excessive noise, welding gases and fumes, and varying weather conditions. Proper protective equipment will be provided as necessary.
CITIZENSHIP: Pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship.
