Position Overview The Railroad Project Engineer provides expertise and consultation on passenger and freight rail infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include supporting rail engineering matters, developing design and construction estimates, reviewing project plans, preparing technical exhibits, and inspecting port facilities, tracks, and structures, including signals, bridges, and crossings. Salary Information Entry level salary ranges from $64,854 to $73,840, with incremental increases over two years. Senior level salary ranges from $80,870 to $99,403, and advanced level from $90,064 to $108,950, depending on experience. All roles require a 12-month probationary period. Qualifications A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited institution or a PE license (or ability to obtain one within 3 months). Senior and advanced levels require additional years of professional experience and specialized skills in transportation or rail engineering.
