Job Title RN Critical Access Hospital

Shift: 12-Hour Variable Shifts (Days/Nights)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week

Facility Overview:
Liberty Medical Center is a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital located in rural Chester, Montana—just a drive away from Glacier National Park and the Canadian border. The facility offers a close-knit, team-oriented environment in a small farming community.

Unit Breakdown:

• 25 total beds: 20 swing/LTC/skilled/inpatient, 5 inpatient
• 2-bed Emergency Room (2–3 patients/day average, max 6)
• No ICU or vent patients; critical patients are stabilized and transferred
• Services include LTC, inpatient, ER, observation, and occasional psych/comfort care

Staffing:

• Day: 2 RNs, 3–4 CNAs
• Night: 1 RN, 2 CNAs
• LPN may take swing bed patients if available
• Strong collaboration between RNs and CNAs

Requirements:

• RN :

  • 2+ years of Emergency Department experience (trauma level 1–3)
  • Critical Access Hospital experience preferred
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS (NRP and TNCC preferred)
  • Strong IV skills and ability to work independently
  • Experience with LTC, med-surg, post-stroke, CHF, and dementia

   

Support Staff & Resources:

• DON and clinical educator on-site during the day
• PT/OT/ST available during the day
• On-call physician coverage after hours
• Phlebotomy on-site during the day; on-call at night
• Remote pharmacist support
• Equipment: Meditech EMR, Pyxis, Baxter pumps, Mindray monitors

Orientation:

• Day 1: HR onboarding, clinical orientation, and ED-specific training
• Day 2: 12-hour shift with preceptor
• Day 3: Begin independent shifts

Additional Details:

• Scrub Color: Any (must be professional)
• Parking: On-site and free
• Welcoming and friendly team culture
• Overtime available but not required
• Expected to work 1–2 holidays per contract
