We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse for its Med Surg/Postpartum/Pediatrics unit on the Athens campus. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic clinical team dedicated to delivering quality care across a diverse patient population.

About the Role

As a multi-specialty RN, you will deliver care to patients across medical-surgical, postpartum, and pediatric units. Flexibility and recent clinical experience in all three specialties are essential, as the unit also cares for medical-surgical patients due to low birth volumes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide bedside nursing care for adult, geriatric, pediatric, and postpartum patients
• Perform fundal checks, IV and NG tube placements, and other essential procedures
• Collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary staff
• Float to other Med Surg units as required
• Accurately document in MedHost and Centricity Perinatal EHR systems
• Uphold infection control, safety standards, and hospital protocols

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years’ recent experience in Med Surg, Postpartum, and Pediatrics (in that order of priority)
• Certifications:
  • BLS (required)
  • PALS (required)
  • NRP and ACLS (preferred)
• Skills: Strong IV and NG tube placement, postpartum assessment experience

• Beds: 14
• Patient Ratio: 1:5–6
• Population: Geriatric, Adult, Pediatric, Postpartum
• Common Diagnoses: Bowel obstruction, hip fracture, cholelithiasis, appendicitis, postpartum care
