Role Unit Leader As a Unit Leader, the incumbent is accountable for multiple squads within a designated unit to deliver manufacturing outcomes aligned with the Row Crop site mission. The Unit Leader acts as Visionary, Architect, Catalyst, and Coach for the assigned unit, providing leadership support to Units and Squads and facilitating alignment with other teams onsite and offsite. Your Tasks and Responsibilities Foster collaboration in a flat network of autonomous entrepreneurial teams called squads; Support Unit and Squad focus on delivering beneficial outcomes for all team members, customers, and stakeholders; Support the co-creation of value by flowing resources and expertise to support development and delivery of the best product and customer experience; Inspire the development, exploration, and execution of creative ideas in rapid cycles (90-day cycles); Show up as your whole authentic self in a creative mindset, focused on the success of all customers, stakeholders, and individuals within the team; Support squads in daily production activities and enable the execution of the daily production schedule to deliver the best product and customer experience; Be an escalation point for task and project prioritization, problem solving, continuous improvement, conflict resolution, and displaying VACC behaviors while prioritizing the squad’s self-organization; Optimize squad members’ performance and development through empowerment and DSO principles, coaching, feedback, and discipline; Sponsor one PSS expert outside of the Unit as well; Maintain close connection with other Unit Leads on and off site to ensure squads receive the support/resources they need to be successful; coordinate unit resources (Gotos, engineers, advisors, etc.); Promote fluid talent and resource utilization within the Unit with an outcomes orientation; Ensure Unit compliance while empowering the squads as much as possible; Model VACC behaviors and facilitate the co-creation of a shared vision and higher purpose that resonates with customers; design and evolve the way we work; act as a catalyst for change, removing obstacles and connecting different parts of the system; Help employees develop capabilities and mindsets to thrive and foster inclusion and empowerment; Monitor site P&L and provide assistance to teams to ensure balance and alignment during operations. Who You Are Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: Required Qualifications High School Diploma; Field, Quality, Planning, Distribution Logistics, Finance, Stewardship, Engineering, Enablement, HR, SSHE, IT/Automation, Strategy, Government Affairs, Legal, Sales, Local Community; Basic user knowledge of standard computer programs (Internet, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, tablets/smart devices); Valid driver’s license (to be eligible to drive a company car; driving record must meet guidelines based on the company’s risk screening for hiring drivers; Motor Vehicle Record reviewed as part of pre-employment screening); Ability to pass pre-employment physical; Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons or when business needs require it; Willingness and ability to work multiple shifts (Days or Nights). Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s in Science in agriculture, engineering, Supply Chain Management or similar, with a minimum of 5 years of applicable experience; 5+ years of experience managing and developing teams; Leadership experience in manufacturing or supply chain; Experience in managing and developing teams; Skilled at leading, managing conflict, and negotiating with cross-functional teams; Demonstration of courage, candor, and initiative in past assignments. Salary: Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $100,551.20 - $150,826.80. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission where relevant.
