**Responsibilities:**
- Assist veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians (LVTs) with surgical, medical, and dental procedures.
- Provide compassionate care for clients and patients.
- Ensure the comfort and cleanliness of animals.
- Monitor vital signs of sedated and anesthetized patients throughout all perioperative phases.
- Prepare and clean the preoperative area and operating room.
- Clean, sonicate, pack, and sterilize surgical instruments.
- Properly care for all surgical and medical equipment.
- Clean and disinfect kennels, carriers, equipment, and the facility.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with clients.
- Maintain a confident and professional demeanor even under stress.
- Keep accurate medical records in accordance with practice policy.
- Fill prescriptions and perform laboratory work.
- Assist with diagnostic imaging and client education.
- Explain follow-up and homecare instructions to clients.
- Discharge patients as per veterinarian's orders, ensuring they are well groomed and in a medically appropriate state.
- Prepare procedure estimates and discuss financial commitments with clients.
- Follow standard operating procedures.
- Familiarity with common vaccines and vaccination protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the facility.
- Perform general housekeeping duties.
- Assist in other areas and perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications:**
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible work style and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Knowledge of basic veterinary medical concepts, including vaccine protocols and anesthetic risks.
- Openness to learning, implementing, and teaching new protocols.
- Excellent client service skills.

**Potential and Prolonged Exposures:**
- Exposure to various aqueous solutions, disinfectants, and cleaning agents.
- Potential exposure to gas anesthetics and zoonotic diseases.
- Exposure to animals of all sizes, temperaments, and medical conditions.

**Physical Requirements:**
- Standing, sitting, lifting, bending, kneeling, and reaching frequently throughout the day.
- Ability to lift up to 39 lbs and work in various physical positions.
- Good hearing with the ability to distinguish pitch changes.
- Agility to move through confined spaces and good balance.
- Use of hands and fingers for surgical equipment and good hand-eye coordination.
- Visual acuity for detailed tasks and ability to focus in different situations.
- Endurance for extended periods of muscle use.
